dental Care the right way
Proper dental care for children can be started in the very early years. Children love to learn, and love to have fun doing it. Parents should encourage proper dental care by doing some or all of the following: Introducing the children to brushing and flossing at an early age Showing the children the importance of dental care by caring for their own dental health care needs on a regular basis. Taking the children along when the parents go for their annual dental visits Providing proper nutrition to ensure dental health. Taking care of dental care emergencies as they arise promptly.
Proper Dental Nutrition
The best way to encourage healthy teeth in children is nutrition this is important because teeth and bone need the right ingredients to grow. A good diet consists of nutritious food that is low in sugar. Another thing to think about is dairy products increase milk and cut down on food high in sugar, especially soft drinks, water and natural juice is also good.
Good Dental Care Habits
If a parent wanted to give their children a head start they could concentrate on good dental hygiene in early development to make sure it sank in.
These habits would include the following: Daily brushing after meals and especially before bedtime when plaque can do the most damage. Daily flossing to remove any food caught in between teeth Drinking water after meals to loosen anything caught in the teeth Choosing fruit or vegetables to increase energy and sustain healthy teeth and gums.
Dentist Visits The LOW Down
Dental health care includes regular visits to the dentist. Making sure that children make the visit to their dentist at least once per year helps to ensure proper dental care. Some of the things the dentist will look at during the yearly office visits include: Tooth growth Cavities Any sign of gum disease Abnormal or crooked teeth
To summarize don’t just be telling your children to do one thing then you do the other. This type of approach will only make them look for ways to doge their dental care like the parent is doing. Get down and dirty with your children and let them know that you are doing your teeth the same way you want them to look after their dental health.
